Somatic Therapy
"Therapist is our inner playmate" Manuela Mischke Reeds
I offer a safe space for Self Exploration, where we explore your inner world in all of its colours in a non-judgmental way. I like to think of it as an experiential laboratory.
Our collaboration can take different forms, from heartfelt conversations to attuning to the body's wisdom, working with the nervous system regulation, exploring movement and voice, and even sharing moments of laughter and play. All of this unfolds based on what's alive for you in the present moment.
With mindful curiosity we work together towards expansion of awareness and integration of conflicting parts into a harmonised whole by identifying tension, deepening into self-love, and allowing new flow into life. I offer pathways to somatically re-pattern the relational attachment strategies that are held within the nervous system, formed for survival during the developmental stages of our lives. As well as working with somatic release of trauma held in the body I also use talking therapy to help make meaning of the experience. With the help of both mind and body we explore the obstacles to the natural flow of energy, that can affect our sense of safety, belonging and ease in life. I use various methods, including the principles of Hakomi, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing as well as the approaches of Internal Family Systems.
It is important for me to create a space that promotes self-empowerment, establishment of healthy boundaries and resilience, for the purpose of creating a healthier and more compassionate relationships with ourselves, our loved ones and our environment.
I practice a Transpersonal, non-dual approach in psychotherapy that integrates body, mind and soul, with a focus on personal growth, self realisation and purpose.
